Weekend to Ruidoso, New Mexico

Bryan and I wanted to get away for the weekend, so we booked a cabin in Ruidoso and had a perfect weekend in the mountains. The sleepy town was so quiet & peaceful. There weren't too many tourist in town since the ski lift was still closed. We shopped and found a little wine bar where we sat, drank wine and played games. Then later we drove up the mountain to see the view, take pictures and go hiking. It was so pretty with the snow falling. It was soo cold! (Next time I am packing more warm stuff.) That night we went to dinner at Willmon's and it was delicious! It was very nice and romantic. If you want a nice place for dinner I recommend it. Great date night. The next day we slept in, well Bryan did and I read my book in bed, and then we ate breakfast in town. On our way back to El Paso, we stopped at a winery where they also grew pistachios. It was a great weekend to say the least. I can't wait to go back!

My Little Hampton

Hampton is growing up so quickly! He is 8 months and growing bigger every second! He's full of curls and he's such a cuddler. He loves playing at the office and is my little guard dog.

Road Trip to El Paso

When we got the news a hail storm hit El Paso, we packed up what we could fit in my Jeep and we headed to good ole west Texas. I have the best BF in the world. Leslie came with me on the long journey so I would not have to drive 9 hours by myself. Bryan left town before me to get our apartment set up so everything would be ready when I got there. Leslie and I planned the best road trip. We stopped every 3 hours to stretch our legs and let Hampton go potty. We stopped in the cutest town called Marfa, TX. We had lunch at Pizza Foundation and even saw the Prada store leaving town. The best surprise was finding a winery in the middle of nowhere!!! SO, of course we had to stop and do a tasting ;) Don't worry, we only had a few sips but we did buy a couple bottles to celebrate with once we arrived in town.

Sunday Fun Day!

While the boys were busy with fantasy football and picking their teams on Sunday, we decided to take a little road trip to Dripping Springs and visit one of the wineries there. It's called Mandola and it's a hidden gem out in the country. I felt like we were in Italy! They also have a restaurant next door, so we decided to stick around and eat dinner there. We bought 2 bottles and sat outside and just talked and enjoyed the view. Dinner was delicious! We had the best scallops. We were having too much fun, so we decided to make one last stop at Steiner Ranch Steak House for a glass of wine before calling it a day. Did I say "a glass"??? I think that turned into a whole bottle. Needless to say, Monday morning was very difficult getting up for work. It was worth it though...

Magnolia Cafe

Leslie and I decided that we wanted to try out new restaurants while we're in Austin. They have to be original "Austin-type" places. Our first stop yesterday was Magnolia Cafe. The decor was very cool and laid back. You could say it had a "dive" atmosphere. We were happy we chose it. The menu was huge and we very starving from working out earlier that morning. So..we decided to split the "Hummus and Tabouli Plate" and the "Flamingo" sandwich. YUMMY! It was delicious. I highly recommend this place. I heard the brunch was good too on Sundays.

5 days Livin' in Austin, TX

So, Hampton and I made it! We're here in Austin with Bryan ;) Our family is now back together again! The drive on Friday wasn't too bad. I was able to leave Fossil after lunch. I worked with the most amazing designers and made so many great friends working there. I already miss everyone ;(

So far living here has been great. We're staying with Bryan's parents until we sell our house in Grapevine. They're out of town right now until next Monday, so we're holding down the fort for them. We went out on Friday night to a couple bars on 4th street and then Saturday we shopped around the "SoCo" area of downtown. Sunday night we had Leslie and Drew over for dinner and we grilled out. It was fun to hang out & celebrate us moving to Austin!

Meet Hampton, our Goldendoodle Puppy

It was love at first sight when I saw a picture of a "Goldendoodle". I knew that was the kind of puppy I wanted. He's half standard poodle and half golden retriever. Smart & sweet..and they don't shead! After weeks and months of hinting (and begging) to Bryan, he finally gave in. Meet Hampton Bulte. He is 5 months now and he'll be going on the road with us. Our little Prince!

This is his Dad's Sister (standard poodle)
...more pictures of Hampton to come!
